reduce economic inequality by taxing wealth

Created by K.F. on May 11, 2014

A recent well reported study out of Princeton and Northwestern Universities has shown that the US has transformed from what has traditionally been thought of as a capitalist democracy to an oligarchy.

Economic inequality is reaching unprecedented levels and the only way to save the middle class is through policy. It is clear that the system no longer works for the majority.

I suggest an income cap based on a ratio between the highest compensated executives within a corporation and the lowest compensated employees. All forms of compensation including stock options, pensions and anything else to be considered.

Most importantly wealth should be taxed on individuals with large fortunes. Income tax disproportionately effects the middle class while exacerbating inequality.
