Reduce effects of Affirmative Action by removing the option to list your race for prestigious colleges.

I have been told throughout my life that America is a racially equal country. Yet, many colleges are accepting students based on their color of their skin and not their qualifications. I believe that prestigious colleges, such as Ivy League institutions, should be admitting students based on their capability, not their race. This affirmative action policy chains us to our past when we should be striding to create equal opportunity for all, regardless of race. According to DoSomething.org affirmative action in college admission offices is the equivalent of adding 150 to 310 points on an SAT score for a minority. This is why I believe that distinguished colleges and graduate programs should remove the option to list your race. Creating a fair opportunity for all applicants.
