reduce elected officials wages to the level of the median individual income of the people they govern

currently many of our elected officials make well over 6 figures in one year in office. which would take many Americans roughly 5-6 years working full time to make that much money. this will abolish congress from voting for their own raises, it will make them actually work to fix the economic problems in the areas they govern. it's strictly a reward system if they are elected and the median income is 40K that is what they will earn for that year in office and if they can raise the income level they will earn them selves a raise, or they can back track and earn less. this petition will also end any government retirement plan and switch strictly to the Thrift Savings Plan (governments 401K plan)
