Reduce the frequency of no-knock warrants for the safety of innocent families and law enforcement.

Created by D.M. on February 24, 2013

No-knock warrants have increase in popularity over the years from approximately 3,000 warrants issued in 1981 to approximately 50,000 warrants issued in 2005.

No-knock warrants are very dangerous for both the members of law enforcement serving the warrant as well as innocent victims defending themselves from an unknown threat. They are reckless and violate the spirit of the 4th amendment, opening the door for unnecessary death and abuse of power.

I ask that the administration examine the issue carefully and take steps to reduce the number of no-knock warrants issued by an order of magnitude.

A wrong address is all it takes to destroy a loving family.
