Gerrymandering has become an epidemic in state legislatures across the country, resulting in manipulated election results and is an affront to democratic principles. There are 234 House Republicans, and 199 House Democrats. Yet in the 2012 election cycle, 1.17 million more people voted for House Democrats than House Republicans, yet Republicans have more seats.
