It is a privilege to represent the people of this country - not a get rich scheme.Free medical care, retirement pay, expenses, secret service, etc. after serving is costing this country millions of dollars. This practice should be abolished. All government officials - including congress - should have to rejoin the work force and make their money like everyone else - not continue to get rich from tax payers when their service has ended.
