reduce interest rates on all student loans to 2% or less to reflect the fact that they cannot be discharged or avoided.

Created by A.F. on November 07, 2011

student loans cannot be discharged in bankruptcy or avoided, essentially putting the future professionals into debtors prison as they pay and pay and pay on these loans forever. Lowering the interest rates to reflect the minimal risk (which is how interest rates are supposed to work) would enable these students and their families to pay off the loans sooner and to put those extra dollars back into the economy. We need those students to compete in the global economy.
