Reduce the length of legislative bills to 50 pages using a fixed font size and font type.

Created by D.H. on August 03, 2014

This petition is to simplify the writing of bills to provide an open and transparent detail of what is in a piece of legislation. A secondary goal is to save money as bills are printed and provided to all legislative members and supporting staff.

My petition is that a bill be in font type 'Century Gothic' and no smaller than font size 9 and no larger than font size 12. The length of a bill be a maximum of 100 sheets of letter size paper using both sides and be written in a format and language that is easily understood. A set of mandatory sections be adopted being a summation, a point form detailing of expected costs followed by clarifying text. Complex bills will be broken down into many bills to be voted on separately but be constrained by the primary bill that is voted on first.
