Reduce Military Spending and increase NATO Cooperation

Created by A.R. on November 13, 2012

The U.S. Defense budget is the largest in the world, and more then our next 24 allies combined. By decreasing spending on multi-billion dollar fees for research and development of new missile or drone systems, we may then put it to good use balancing the budget or paying for government services; schools, libraries, etc.

In addition, joint research, pooled research, and US contribution of old vehicles, arms, utility, etc. could increase our ability as global peacekeepers, and increase stability in the world along with the reputation of America. If we cannot afford to keep many of our citizens and veterans homed, by what right should we spend more on killing others? While it is for protection and matters of this nation, we must not forget our humanity.
