Reduce the national drinking age from 21 to 18.

Created by J.P. on November 01, 2011

Only two countries in the world have a twenty-one year old drinking age, the United States and Indonesia. All other developed countries throughout the entire world have an eighteen year old drinking age, and some are even lower. The laws forbidding the possession of alcohol from 18-20 year olds are largely ignored, as studies show that at minimum over 85% of twenty year olds have participated in underage drinking. We ask that the Obama administration change the national drinking age to 18. All the current law does is criminalize a large majority of the American population, as well as create a disrespect for the law among young adults.
