Reduce the number of Copy-cat Killers by making shooters' names confidential.

Created by W.R. on January 22, 2013

In consideration that, it is well documented, that the publicity following mass shootings, spawns more mass shooting attempts. We petition that the names, identity, and any personally-relatable information of any deceased shooters be made confidential, that is top secret, for a period of twenty (20) years. This will deter copy-cat killers from seeking fame, or infamy, that they have previously achieved, through the rampant irresponsibility shown by the Print, Radio, and video 24-hour, and Network, news services. Unless there is a valid reason to make the shooter's identity public, (i.e. they've escaped/there are more suspects) And, in the case of a shooter going to trial, the identity be confidential, until such time as the judge presiding, elects to release such information to the public.
