Given that traffic accidents are the leading cause of traumatic deaths in the United States, we request that the administration promote safety on the Federally Funded Highways and Byways by banning any NON-hands free cellphone use on these roadways. Cellphones have been implicated in almost a quarter of all deaths on the highways and are a threat to the safety of all motorists. The distraction impairment of cell phone use is not measurable as is a blood alcohol level may be however it is a threat to the user and non-user of cell phones. Please help to ban the use of non-hands free cellphones from all federal byways.
