Reduce the number of Signatures needed to warrant a response from 100,000 to a more achievable figure.

Created by L.C. on June 12, 2013

Due to the increase in the number of signatures needed to receive a response from President Obama, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find support for many valid and honorable causes. Many of these petitions reach their expiration date without even reaching into the triple digits. In the past, several petitions of ridiculous nature (example: build a Death Star) easily achieved the necessary number of signatures and forced the President to release a statement, followed immediately by an increase in signatures required. The limit was constantly increasing in order to avoid anything radically ridiculous from getting pushed through to the point that almost nothing can get through. It is our right as Americans to petition our leaders, and the President and his office are no exception.
