Too many letters in American English, too many rules how to use them in reading & writing. Reduce number to 10 and we will be able to have even pre-school kids reading and will show the world how advanced our kids are. Oh, and sort of unrelated, anytime you want to start that "stop the oceans rising things", now would be a good time.
