Reduce or altogether end salaries and benefits for retired presidents, senators, and congressmen.

In order for our government to truly be of the people, by the people, and for the people, our elected officials should have the interests of the people at the forefront of their minds when proposing our voting on legislation, including pay raises for elected officials. The taxpayers should not be responsible for paying retired elected officials their salaries for the remainder of their lives after leaving, or for providing health benefits to said retired officials. Our government should stop paying the salary and benefits of these retired officials. The savings to the taxpayers would be monumental.
