Reduce or eliminate pay for congress, $174,000 a year is too much.

The current salary (2011-2012) for rank-and-file members of the House and Senate is $174,000 per year, this needs to be reduced. Money could be redistributed to communities or to the national debt.
During the Constitutional Convention, Benjamin Franklin considered proposing that elected government officials not be paid for their service. We believe congress should serve the country and not waste tax dollars.
