The GOP (in particular) wants to balance the Federal budget, a laudable act in the "abstract", but unless all areas are cut including the bloated national defense budget, those who need Federal dollars the most will be hit the hardest including (1) the poor, (2) the aged, (3) college students, (4) single parent households, (5) minorities and (6) the sick.
The House and Senate profess to be taking a fair and balanced approach when it comes to managing the budget, but refuse to take substantial action when it comes to reducing the huge national defense budget.
