Reduce pay of all congressmen, senators and elected officials to equal amount of highest paid Military Service members

Reduce the pay of all congressmen, senators and elected officials to an amount equal to the highest paid Military Service members base pay; set aforementioned persons retirement options to the same. These officials are elected to serve the people, not substantiate their wallets. Both they and service members serve the people of the United States, both work to protect their citizens, yet one faces great personal danger and is far less remunerated for their service. The standards and compensation needs to be standardized for both.
