Reduce the pay and benefits of all members and staff of Congress past and present.

In view of the fact that both the actions and inaction of Congress we find our country in dire economic straits. As they threaten Americans with a loss of pay every time the budget hits a wall. They as the main reason for the problem should feel the brunt of the problem. I submit they receive a minimum of 50% reduction in pay and benefits once the budget is balanced. Until the Federal Budget is balanced the Members of Congress receive no pay what so ever with no retroactive pay or reimbursements for their expenses during the budget process.
