reduce the pay of members of Congress to that of an average school teacher and cut funding for their travel expenses.

Created by A.Y. on September 29, 2013

I believe paying Congress the salary of an average public school teacher will attract candidates that care about helping the American population rather than themselves and other rich Americans. We currently pay for Congress to travel to and from their home states, sometimes weekly, with our tax dollars. I believe if we cut funding for them to do so, they will stay and actually get to know their co-workers and in turn, work with them to pass legislation, rather than against them. I also believe all legislation Congress passes should apply to themselves as well, rather than just the American population.
