We, as a nation, must take a stand against obesity. To combat this increasingly problematic issue, we encourage a reduction in the prices of healthy foods, such as, whole wheat products, fruits and vegetables and increase the prices of unhealthy foods such as ice cream, chips, sodas and fast foods.
This will help make healthier food choices more available to all, especially the poor, who have been more disadvantaged when it comes to the prices of food. "According to a 2004 study published in the "Annual Review of Public Health, unhealthy food is cheaper, it makes sense for people who are poorer to focus on them as a primary source of nourishment." (http://www.livestrong.com/article/434419-healthy-food-costs-vs-unhealthy...) We hope that this will lessen the rate of obesity.
