Reduce restrictions on felons by creating programs to evaluate their level of rehabilitation.

Created by D.F. on June 13, 2013

Felons are sentenced by the courts, but continue being punished by society. Employers do not take into consideration the amount of time passed, the specific circumstance, whether or not the individual served a sentence with the DOC, rehabilitation received, or even societal production since the conviction. Also, homeowners continually deny felons an opportunity to enter into a rental agreement. I was convicted of my only felony in 2008. 5 years have passed, but I still cannot acquire a job paying much more than minimum wage. I have since had a son and been with my fiance for 3 1/2 years. I currently attend college and am working on my Bachelors degree in Information Technology. I am 27 years old. How am I to support my family making $8.25/hour? How am I to find a home for my family?
