reduce the salaries of all government workers that fall into the upper class in an attempt to balance the budget.

Currently our country is in an economic crisis. Our Senators and Representatives for example, earn over $150,000 annually, which is much more than the average American citizen makes annually. Government officials need to take a pay cut and learn to live on the salaries that the rest of the country receives in order to make them more sympathetic to our economic situation, and to save the government money that is desperately needed in other areas. If we add the 100 senators, and 435 members of the house of representatives and cut their annual salaries by $50,000, we would end up saving the country $26.75 million dollars. That money could then be allocated to education or other important civil programs.
