Since Congress is supposed to be for the people, to serve the people, and represent the people, the salaries they make should coincide with that representation. It doesn't make sense that those who are representing and serving the American people make twice as much in salary as those they serve. Members of Congress should make the median Salary of the American population. If the economy is suffering, congress should see that reflected in their paychecks, the same as the rest of Americans. If the economy is thriving, Congress should see the benefit, like the rest of Americans.
