Reduce the salary of members of congress and other elected and appointed federal employees by 50% and abolish the FERS.

Created by S.C. on February 18, 2013

The basis of this petition is to reduce the cost of operating the federal government. We request that ALL members of congress, cabinet members, federal judges, and appointed officials have their base salaries reduced by 50%. We also request that the FERS (federal employee retirement system) be abolished. All funds currently in the FERS to be transferred to the social security system and credited to each employee. This petition also requests that all base pay raises to elected and appointed federal employees be placed on presidential ballots to allow the people to decide. Also, elected officials budgets to be reduced by 50%. To allow for inflation, a 5% base pay increase every three years for elected officials (not to exceed 50% of initial salary over length of employment).
