Reduce student loan interest for college students. Student loan interest rates are close to 7% for average Americans.

Created by S.T. on May 07, 2013

I went to college from 2008-2011. My federal student loans are almost 7% and I have good credit. The federal government needs to review college student loans interest rates to ensure there are fair rates for everyone. The problem with student loans isn't the term length or the need for loan forgiveness. The problem is college students are being charged high interest rates and are unable to afford the payments. If there were fair rates between 2-3%, loans would be more affordable and students could attend colleges to receive higher degrees. All the information about student loan rates currently being in the 2-3% range is a false statement. Students are being buried in high interest government and private loans.
