Our government has failed the American people by failing to maintain the student loan interest rate at 3.4% and instead allowing it double at 6.8%.
Current students are the future of this country. This rise in the interest rate is a burden for the students and their families and the nation as a whole.
The middle class in America has suffered enough. We need legislation to be passed immediately to prevent any real damage to this country.
Banks borrow money from the Federal Reserve at a rate of 0.75%. We are not asking for that low of a rate but to ask 6.8% from students and their families simply isn't going to help our economy.
