We the people ask the federal government to Change an existing Administration policy:

Reduce Student Loan Interest Rates to 0%

Created by A.B. on June 04, 2016

We the People call on the President of the United States to reduce the student loan interest rates on ALL loans provided by the U.S. Department of Education and Treasury to 0%.

The People of these United States should not be directly responsible for paying for the cost of administering the Federal Student Loan program. This cost should be 100% funded by taxpayer dollars and part of the budget of the Department of Education and Treasury.

To date, Americans have more than $1.4 trillion in student loan debt with the current interest rate at 4.29%, creating a large pool of excess dollars for the government to use at the expense of citizens who already pay their taxes.

We will no longer accept being a subsidy for a program we are already funding through our tax dollars.
