Reduce the taxpayer burden through fiscal responsibility and sound management of government. Simply put, the number of people employed by the Federal government is staggering. 1.8 million civilian employees of the federal government, excluding the Postal Service and the Military in 2010. That number does not include government funded contractors and those organizations receiving federal grant money either. Combining these groups total more than 22 million people. Multiply that times the average salary of $126K! Reducing this payroll and benefits burden would markedly ease the concerns of taxpayers, and, address our debt problem by shifting the decreasing cash flow from taxes, that pay government employees, to increased revenue from those same people once employed in the private sector.
