The petition is an effort to assist the hundreds of thousands of Americans who because of the recession had no choice but to file a bankruptcy. The petition is to ask the Government of the United States to reduce the amount of time a bankruptcy by an individual can be used as a derogatory mark on a persons credit to a maximum of four years for any entity doing business with an indivifual and to force all credit bureaus to remove all bankruptcies from individuals credit reports after four years. The petition also asks for all financial institutions to question potential loan purchasers if they had a bankruptcy in the past 4 years only.
