reduce VIP travel costs by leveraging US government owned facilities rather than commercial hotels.

Created by S.O. on June 29, 2013

The United States must find ways to save money. Higher ranking government representatives can and must help in reducing travel expenses - along with the rest of the rank and file federal workforce.

Government VIPs have an understandable need for greater security. Currently, security is accomplished by renting out entire five-star hotels in the visiting cities - costing taxpayers millions of dollars in hotel fees even for trips lasting only a few days.

To reduce these costs - we petition the White House to establish a VIP travel policy whereby High Ranking government representatives, including the President and Vice President, must take up lodging in US embassies or US military facilities to the maximum extent possible when traveling.
