We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Reenlistment bonuses

Created by J.H. on October 25, 2016

The Pentagon is forcing nearly 10,000 soldiers who were paid cash bonuses to reenlist into the California National Guard to pay the bonuses back, after an audit found they were given out by mistake.

This is not the fault of the soldiers. They only accepted what was offered to them. This is putting a hardship on them. It is the fault of the government for the error and not the soldier so why should the soldier be the one held responsible?

The Pentagon needs to not force the soldiers to repay the bonuses. The Pentagon also needs to refund any money they have gotten from the refunds. The bonus was part of an agreement that the government is basically breaking. That should be illegal if it is not.

Both congress and the President needs to step in and stop this!
