It is very difficult for single working parents to comply with there family needs especially with this economy. Unfortunately as tax payers we seek for government help and we find our selfs trapped because according to the SNAP income guideline we don't qualify. If a single parent makes for I.e. 45,000 a year that's to much for the system. The government agencies use the gross income as if that's the amount coming into your home every month. In realty that is not correct because we are paying taxes to the government therefore after paying rent, utility bills, transportation it is very little left for us to bring a decent and healthy meal to our kids . We don't qualify for Medicaid so we have to pay health insurance, copayment our children basic needs we pay taxes but who bails us out.
