This petition is a request for the Commander-in-Chief to reevaluate the ranking (order of precedence) of the newly established Distinguished Warfare Medal (DWM) and to direct the Defense Secretary to adjust the precedence of this medal accordingly.
Currently the DWM is designated below the Distinguished Flying Cross and above the individual service medals for heroism not involving combat. In addition, the new Distinguished Warfare Medal is ranked above the Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart.
In our opinion, because of the remote nature of cyberwarfare and combat drone operations, the DWM should not outweigh the heroic and selfless sacrifice given by countless service members past, present and future to protect and defend our great nation
