This change is a simple, common sense measure with bipartisan consensus.
Three main reasons why this refinement should be adopted:
1. Everybody pronounces it "Wendsday" already. When people currently spell out "Wednesday", most need to say in their head, "Wed - ness - day" — it's unnecessary! This is a common sense change.
2. It saves money. The current spelling has NINE letters; the updated spelling cuts that down to EIGHT. This saves ink and therefore taxpayer money that could be better spent on education and the military.
3. The American government needs to take the initiative and provide legitimacy for this improved way of spelling. Even if other nations keep using "Wednesday", they also probably use the metric system and we don't seem to care about that either.
