Refill reservoirs along the Rio Grande River

We the people of the United States of America respectfully petition President Barack Obama to take action to eliminate water shortages along the Rio Grande River. In recent years the water supply from the Rio Grande's reservoirs has been declining due to overuse and severe drought, harming people living on both sides of the Rio Grande. The lack of water in these reservoirs causes parts of the river to run dry, threatening North American biodiversity. A reduction in American agriculture would raise food prices globally, killing millions of people in the Third World who spend most of their income on food. It is for these reasons we urge the President to purify water used for industrial purposes and return it to the Rio Grande which would boost our economy and protect our environment.
