Dear President Obama,
Your refinance proposal is sub-standard. It will only help very few Americans. The underwriting terms of your proposal should include all American. Espeacially the customers that really need it. For example, 95% of the people who want to refinance need a sub-prime option or assistance when they get behind on their mortgage. Also, banks need to take a more pro-active underwriting approach. Give banks an tax credit for every $100 million in refinances made with FICO scores between 525 and 650. This is the only way your plan will work. This is a plan for working families in America not just the well to do. What your plan proposes is REDLINING in a way. It discriminates against the needy and most of America's homeowners. This will show voters you really care.
