The latest discussions of more and less meaningful gun legislation are short sighted and flawed. The fact is that technological innovation will always outstrip the ability of legislation to keep up. If the internet hasn't proved that to our government, they're kidding themselves.
People commit crimes. Guns do not.
It's time to refocus the discussion and stop blaming bits of metal, plastic and wood for the evils of our society. Nothing will stop a madman from committing evil acts so we cannot ban inanimate objects with any hope that it will quell that evil. Evil is present in a predictable fraction of any population and it is the job of the people to defend themselves from evil.
We ask the Obama administration to look at real solutions to real problems and quit blaming objects.
