Reform airport security measures that are ineffective, costly, and a violation of basic civil liberties.

Created by A.M. on January 17, 2014

WHEREAS

- Holding passengers in a concentrated line prior to any security checks creates a substantial security risk;

- Using rigid screening procedures not only removes discretion from TSA staff, it makes it easier to circumvent those procedures;

- Full body scanners amount to a full body search without probable cause;

- Burdensome security requirements waste countless man-hours of both passengers and staff alike, adversely effecting the productivity of the country;

We the people hereby petition President Barack Obama to issue a Presidential Decision Directive to TSA that modifies airport security measures to make them more efficient, effective, and in line with basic notions of privacy and probable cause.
