Reform the American Education System

Created by A.E. on March 30, 2014

The American education system is old and inefficient, and unnecessarily difficult. We petition the administration to put reforms into effect to reform American education as we know it using foreign models as our guidelines (like the education system in Finland).

Huge tests, rigid structure, unnecessarily rigorous regimes, and lack of creativity all form the basis of the current system. Reforms like smaller cumulative tests during the year (in place of large finals), a more relaxed and comfortable school environment, and a more creativity-based education system will solve most of the problems that are already trying to be resolved. In doing that, school will become more enjoyable, students will perform better, and most of the current problems (like truancy) will solve themselves.
