The video above is a great 10 minute summary of the current reform that is necessary to ensure the safety of multiple translators and interpreters who aid our defense forces everyday in countries such as Afghanistan and Iraq. Many of these translators have become the target for attacks by the Taliban and are living in fear every single day. The process for attaining a visa to come to the US is extremely lengthy and is more of a lottery than a real option for these people. Congress has in fact passed bills in favor of this but our government has ceased to actually allow more translators a chance here in the United States. Many of these men and women have kept our troops safe, it's time that we do the same.
