TSA as been empowered to strip us (Screener Personnel) of the rights of other federal workers. 49 USC 44935 reads-Notwithstanding any other provisions of the law, the Under Secretary of Transportation may EMPLOY, APPOINT, DISCIPLINE, TERMINATE and FIX COMPENSATION, TERMS and CONDITIONS of EMPLOYMENT of Federal Service.....The Under Secretary shall ESTABLISH LEVELS of COMPENSATION and OTHER BENEFITS for individuals so employed. We have been governed under this law for more than a decade. We seek the general pay scale, a full union contract with benefits, adequate staffing at federally run airports, law enforcement protection at all checkpoints, and safe and healthy work environments.
