In order to stop the perpetual gridlock that has taken hold of both houses of Congress, wherein the members are more concerned about their own reelection than doing the people's business, we the people demand the following:
1.Limit congressional salaries to the median income in the country ($45,018 in 2012).
2.Return to the original, Constitutional intent of Congress being made up of citizen legislators, by limiting all members to no more than 3 consecutive terms. Any current members who have met or exceeded this limit will be ineligible to run for reelection.
3. All members will be subject to the same job benefit rules as other federal employees, including health care and retirement.
4. Any changes to the above must be approved by federal referendum.
