Reform the budget spent on State and Federal Prisons.

Created by J.L. on December 11, 2012

The average cost of holding a prisoner each year is $31,000.00
The average cost of holding a life sentence is 1.5 Million per inmate.
The current total cost of our jail and prison system is 68 Billion dollars a year.
This is enough to buy 150 new F-22 Raptors.
The amount spent on criminals should not be more than what a service member receives annually at the rank of E-1.
The number of criminals in for life should be dropped substantially.
The cost of execution should be cheap.
A .223 55 gain Remington bullet costs about .50 cents, and a rope is about a dollar a foot.
The punishment needs to fit the crime.
