Change the law to limit campaign contributions to individuals.
Corporations, Political Action Committees (PACs), organizations, etc. would no longer be able to contribute their large sums of money to candidates; thus having undue influence on the outcomes.
By limiting the contributions to individuals, candidates and elected officials would answer directly to individual constituents.
Stipulations of the new law would be as follows:
Only registered voters can contribute to campaigns.
The maximum contribution would be one percent of the average individual annual salary. Currently, the annual salary is approximately $40,000; therefore, the maximum contribution would be $400 per candidate.
Campaign contributions would remain anonymous to eliminate graft, kickbacks, and patronage.
