Child support is out-dated and a little silly. Child support is suppose to be for the child's best interest. First a parent who is willing or trying to pay child support and is financially unable (this does not include a parent who just refuses to pay) to pay the minimum should not be thrown in jail. This helps the kid how? Second there needs to be ways to monitor how child support is spent. It can be done Wic does it, it just needs to be set up. Parents should not spend child support on themselves. Third child support should not be the greatest or even a significant part of ones income. One parent who may be willing to care for the child shouldn't be responsible for providing for the other parent but the child. I'm not saying do away with child support I'm asking for it to be fixed.
