There is a loophole in the current child support law that is discriminatory against parents who pay support and have married another person. The loophole adds the support payers income and their current spouses income together to determine what they call "family income" then creates the support payment based on that amount. I feel it is discriminatory to the current spouse and the payer to do so. It is not the legal responsibility of persons who marry single fathers or mothers to help financially support their spouses children. We should not punish those who have had children and have moved on and married by making them pay an amount that represents not only their own income but also their spouses. Please sign to the petition to end this injustice.
