Reform the child support system. The current child support enforcement is an ineffective waste of tax dollars

Created by J.B. on November 15, 2012

The present child support enforcement is not effectively executed. Taking away the delinquent parent’s license or sentencing them to jail time does nothing for the child, or the economy since more tax money is wasted feeding them and paying for their healthcare and then the delinquent parent has more difficulty finding proper employment. I propose sentencing child support offenders be automatically sentenced to work houses. The money they earn should go to their children minus a very minor allowance for food. There should be very strict curfews, no alcohol or drugs (daily testing!) and no amenities such as television or cell phones. This will earn the delinquent parent job skills and motivate them to find a job that they may actually earn more than enough to pay their child support.
