Reform Congressional and gov't retirement benefits to have the same benefits as typical Americans

Created by S.W. on September 06, 2013

The majority of Americans work hard for their lives, yet we see Congress considering 'reforms' in Social Security and gov't involvement in 401k plans.

Congress has a pension after 5 years of service, one which is guaranteed by the government, immune to financial crashes, and outside of the experience of a majority of Americans with no pension at all.

Anyone trying to dictate policy on Social Security and 401k programs for a majority of Americans has no right to do so with no reliance on those same programs due to 'special' benefits provided to them.

At a minimum, Congress should have it's pension plan revoked and replaced with the 'median' 401k plan benefits across America today. Tie any expansion of benefits honestly and simply to the benefits and well-being of the American People
