The digital age has created a forum for people to recreate and put their individual spin on things that have become accepted by the larger society. The Copyright Term Extension Act has created a repression of individuals, like artists. These artists would like to use these works that are protected by an unfairly long copyright life.
These artists would like to recreate, not redistribute; therefore, it is unjust to punish them as if they are pirating the information.
The Obama administration should make exceptions for those who use copyrighted information to create new information. At the very least, corporations should not be allowed to have "corporate authorship", thus restricting the lifespan of a copyright to 70 years plus the life of the author.
